I'unno where you got this ridiculous conception that we just outright hate ponies. We were just a bit confused on what to do with a OC at first.

BUT ANYWAYS, here we have Rao! Who has.. Pony flu? :o
It'll be interesting to see how this character fights, nonetheless.

Edit: Only one spot left, you guys! :o

I keep thinking Rao has a beard.

I... I'm sorry.

Reply Tex, October 29th, 2011, 1:22 pm

I might just be un-faving this if a pony passes round one.

Reply Weaver Tyialo, October 29th, 2011, 1:50 pm

@Tex: Can I ask why?

Reply Tex, October 29th, 2011, 4:58 pm

I'm not actually going to unfav, but the idea of a pony (or a cat for that matter) in a tournament is preposterous.

Believability is a necessary element to any comic (and yes, that applies in fiction to some extent)

Reply Eternalstorm Blade, October 29th, 2011, 5:10 pm

While what you say may be true in a sense you do realize that when people join up for Tournaments they often pull out some of their better characters or some of their more bizarre characters and if you look at what the characters themselves can do, it makes logical sense that they are able to hold their own, besides Rao isn't a Pony but a Renamon that has gotten something called Pony-flu at the moment and as for the cat do tell me how many cats have you seen that's able to fire lasers out of it's eyes?

Reply Celestial_Wolf, October 29th, 2011, 5:16 pm

@Tex: You want believeability in a tournament with Magic Users, Guys that can fly and shoot energy beams, Users of Magical Elements and some Physical Gods.

Sir, Believeability went flying out of the window long ago.

Reply Porky, October 29th, 2011, 5:18 pm

@Celestial_Wolf: Don't forget idiot physical gods.

Reply Tex, October 29th, 2011, 5:19 pm

Sigh. I'm not going to bother trying to change nonsense, not that I could if I tried.

Reply Weaver Tyialo, October 29th, 2011, 10:24 pm

@Tex: Sorry I couldn't be here to respond on my own, before all the rest of them, But I was... I believe I was at a local concert at that time.

I was merely asking why, because it is shown that this pony has more abilities than some other fighters in the tournament have shown, a better understanding of battle, more will to fight, and is a Renamon with some plot convenient illness. At worst, if this character is unused to the body, then their some of their skills and abilities will be a bit clunky in the beginning, but they should get used to the body. Otherwise, this pony, who knows how to fight, should actually fare quite well against the people here.

The cat... That's a different story. And I'm sorry if I rambled. It's freezing cold, and I'm a wee bit tired. And I'm beyond sorry that so many people could respond before me.

Reply Tex, October 30th, 2011, 12:14 am

I don't see how 'battle experience' is at all relevant. When you throw in a cat with no personality, and a pony who obviously has humanoid-ish sprites into a tournament just to fill space, you'll get people like me asking the simple, yet earthshaking questions, such as:

1) Why would a sprite without any flexibility be accepted, especially when it's a cat, and smaller than the average goomba.

2) Where's the logic in accepting animals into a tournament to begin with? Why would anyone WANT to watch them fight? (with such clunky sprites compared to most, which are NOT DESIGNED for battle)

3) If humanoid sprites of a character exist, why on earth submit something completely contrasting to the rest of the fighters? (humanoid, humanoid, sonic edit sonic edit, humanoid, humanoid,

Personally I wouldn't find any humor is watching animals (regardless of intellect) fight against anyone in a cast consisting of 90% humanoid characters.

Mixing fruits and veggies, whatever you want to call it.

It's part bias on my part, I simply find shape shifters and magic animals apauling. There's a bit of validity to keeping a cast similar to one another though.

There aren't any laser cats or talking ponies in DBZ, bleach, or naruto.

One piece might have such things, but the whole zoan fruit logic is sound in that universe, and there's options to form.

Well, actually... This is a Pan-universe tournament. We could have easily accepted a gibbering blob of mouths, because it would provide an interesting fight, and yet it would still work because, in it's universe, it is totally legitimate. If the characters work in their own universes, then they can all legitimately exist in this universe.

Which isn't really a universe anyway, come to think of it... More of a cross-universe platform.

Plus, the added variety will give us something new to work with: You can pretty much guarantee that a humanoid character will wield some sort of weapon, or use their fists or resort to magic, or all of the above. The cat and pony add new dynamics, and a perfect opportunity for some good character interaction:

For example, take KoA vs. the cat. Instant hilarity.

I stand by my opinion :]

Reply Samuel Alexander Markovnikov, October 30th, 2011, 12:26 pm

... I... I was expecting more of a fight, to be honest.

You were arguing so much I thought you were adamantly trying to get us to remove it.

Huh, guess I need to brush up on my text-to-tone translations.

Reply Tex, October 30th, 2011, 4:26 pm

I think I clearly stated I'm not going to bother trying to change the comic, right above.

I just think it's nonsense to allow a pony/kitty into a tournament. I could always skim those fights though.

I'm just not an easy person to read, I don't transpose any real emotion into writing that isn't a type of fiction. At least, I try not to.

Reply Eternalstorm Blade, October 30th, 2011, 4:55 pm

You do realize that Pony is a Digimon with something called with PONY-flu which seems turns people into a pony but this can also be reversed.

Anu also has a few things we have yet to reveal which are quite "Big" if the other authors have looked at Anu's sheet.

@Eternalstorm Blade: K

Reply Weaver Tyialo, October 30th, 2011, 5:36 pm

@Tex: Alright. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the other fights, and can accept it if one of those two goes far.
